We offer a range of professional development opportunities for individuals who want to develop their understanding of early years theory and practice. Our courses are taught by an enthusiastic, experienced team of tutors. All tutors are intent on supporting you as an independent learner and seeing you succeed and grow in confidence, knowledge and understanding as well as develop your practice working with children and their parents. All Pen Green's professional development programmes have been co-constructed through practitioner research and with that have a proven record of making a difference for young children and their families.
In 1998 we set up our MA programme for early years leaders. Since then we have gone on to extend our degree programme to include courses at foundation and BA level. More recently we have introduced teacher training opportunities as well as running our undergraduate programmes off-site, around the country including Bradford, Kegworth and London.
Our short courses have emerged from practice issues and research projects in our own children’s centre, nursery school and early years provision. With this knowledge, and through contact with students and other settings, we have identified shared challenges and common problems facing early years practitioners.
