Specialising in:

  • Children from birth to three
  • Support and supervision

"I am operational lead for the day to day running of the centre and Head of Service for the birth to three domain. I work with children, families and colleagues across the Nursery School and the whole Centre and have strategic leadership for our services for the youngest children and their families.

For over thirty years we have offered high quality education and care at the Centre. In 2004 we expanded our provision to offer education and care for children under two years of age. At this time I took on the leadership of this new provision. In 2012 we opened a second baby and toddler provision, due to the high demand for places for young children. As head of service for the birth to three domain I took a lead role in the expansion and development of this second provision. In doing so I developed a new leadership structure across the two settings which has built leadership capacity with in the 0-3 team and in turn supports the long term sustainability of the organisation.

I also offer pedagogical consultancy at another children’s centre in the town. My role has included:

  • Developing and facilitating training with the early years team

  • Monthly peer support

  • Individual supervision

  • Peer reviews

  • Developing pedagogical practice wit the early years practitioners

  • Leadership support and supervision with the early years lead (Teacher/EYP)

  • Monthly meetings with the children’s centre leader to further support the development of best practice within the organisation

Since I have taken on this role the early years team have worked collaboratively with two other children’s centres within the town to support the delivery of early years services. The team have felt suitably knowledgeable and skilled to take on this new piece of work and therefore develop their own practice in the different settings."
